Sybaris - Rosemont-Petite-Patrie
Conception 2003

The Sybaris Condominiums transforms a 1940s-era warehouse building into a 10-unit custom condominium complex. The project comprises two-storey units with 10 to 11-foot ceilings, ground level garden, roof terrace or solarium and a fireplace or a wood-burning stove. A major project objective was to reintroduce quality craftsmanship to urban residential architecture. Custom finishing using local craftsmen and artists includes a stone front façade with copper flashing, wrought-iron railings, stained glass, custom wood trim and artwork integrated inside and out. The sustainable strategies of the project include the reuse of the existing building structure and shell, green roofs, efficient heating systems, maximisation of natural lighting, high-efficiency windows, non-toxic and recycled materials, insulation 25% above standards, rainwater irrigation, water-efficient fixtures and provision for bicycle parking.
