Translation is the conversion of a duplex located on the Plateau Mont-Royal into a single-family cottage. The partitions of the ground floor were completely opened to welcome the family living spaces. The back facade was completely fenestrated to flood the ground floor with light. The living room takes place at the front of the house with a removable partition to increase the intimacy from this large space, when needed. Four bedrooms take place upstairs including a master bedroom with en suite bathroom. In an angular gesture, a piercing was created at the level of the second floor at the back of the staircase to convey the light of a skylight to the kitchen on the ground floor. This gesture, accompanied by a second skylight above the stairs, showcases with plenty of light this place of daily movement.
