Twin Peaks

The Twin Peaks project consists of an addition to a 1900s heritage home in Pointe-Claire. The extension reflects a contemporary design, using modern materials and clean lines within a volume similar to that of the original home in order to establish a clear and integrated distinction between the original building and the new spaces.

The roof of the extension follows the profile of the existing home with the nuance of a lowered ridge, creating a visual continuity while preserving the read of the original house. Both new and existing volumes are carefully designed to dialogue with each other, thus offering a touch of modernity without compromising the historic character of the ensemble.

The restoration of the original building is central to the realization of this project. The work  focuses on the preservation of architectural details, such as moldings, shutters, windows and doors. Particular attention is paid to the conservation of distinctive motifs of the original building, in order to preserve the integrity and authenticity of its components.

In addition to the extension, generous outdoor spaces are developed. The landscaped rear garden includes terraces, spa, and  awning defining relaxation areas and promoting a fluid connection between the interior and exterior. The facilities are designed to encourage conviviality and well-being, while respecting the topography and local ecology.

This extension project represents a balanced fusion between the old and the contemporary, highlighting the preservation of heritage while meeting current needs. The proposed architecture creates a functional and aesthetic living environment, respectful of its history while looking to the future.
