Chambly House

Completed 2013

This house set in the heart of Old Chambly near Fort Chambly and the Richelieu River enjoys views over the heritage protestant church and the Chambly Basin. Laid out on one floor with an open-plan layout, this contemporary house fits into to its landscape, enjoying a large backyard with a pool and a sunny terrace. The main living spaces open onto this long terrace, allowing the owners to make the most of the sunlight and views. An covered entry porch sets the house back from the street and defines the private nature of the house and its yard. A home office is located on the street, allowing the owners to connect with the neighbourhood. The main bedroom is set in a wing adjacent to the living spaces, helping define the backyard and opening up to its tranquility. This project was completed in collaboration with engineers Calculatec and with the clients as construction managers.
