Completed 2005
Hochelaga-Maisonneuve Renovation is a major renovation project, where the 2nd and 3rd floors of the triplex became a single apartment, including a new mezzanine leading to a roof garden. The project was guided by sustainable principles in the aim of minimizing its impact on the environment and assuring a healthy environment for its occupants. The sustainable strategies of the project include improvements to the building envelope, installation of a geothermal system, solar domestic water preheating and grey water heat-recovery, rain water collection, water and energy-efficiency, and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, with particular emphasis on the use of healthy, recycled and reused materials and waste management. This project was completed in collaboration with engineers Calculatec and with general contractor Construction BFG.
